Saturation Carrier
Route postal discounts are available for mailings that meet density
requirements and are sorted in walk sequence (DSF). In addition,
the DSF file can be used to validate each individual address record.
The Delivery Sequence File is a file that contains all
addresses serviced by the Postal Service. Each record contains
Zip+4, Carrier Route, Delivery Sequence, Delivery Type, and Seasonal
Delivery Information. The provision of information from
the DSF product is controlled by the approved address matching
logic. NO DSF address information is provided without reference
to an existing address on a mailer's list. Additionally,
the DSF product contains NO change of address information. This
coding allows placement of the mail pieces in the exact sequence
that the mail carrier for the carrier route will deliver the mail.
The postal presort required to receive these discounts does
require additional processing.
You receive the following
from DSF processing:
- Address Validation
- Address Standardization
- Zip+4 Coding
- Carrier Route ID Coding
- Delivery Sequence Coding
- Detection of potentially undeliverable
addresses for reasons other than a change of address
- DSF information provided on
electronic media
- Cost savings through improved
address list quality
